How it all started
A note from Dorcas: I've been involved in the area Chamber of Commerce since we moved to Lincoln 13 years ago. I've felt there was room in our community for a nice gift store or a store that would address home decor issues.
When the local pharmacy closed, we lost the only place in our town where you could run to get a last minute gift or card. The time seemed right. After much research, asking lots of questions and lots of prayer, we came up with the basis for our business and the rest fell into place.
Initially, I intended to offer custom blinds and window treatments with in-home consultations and professional installation. Along with this, I would offer a sampling of home decor items and small gifts. As I was purchasing my start-up inventory, I kept an eye out for something different than what was available in the surrounding communities.
In the back of my mind, I always intended to set up a scrapbook workroom where I could work on my scrapbooks with the hope of slowly adding scrapbook supplies to my inventory. I was presented with the opportunity to purchase a scrapbook store and start with a full-fledged work room and wide selection of scrapbook supplies.
The rest, as they say, is history!
